The Best Mid Tower Case Out There!!!

Hi, I got this case about 2 weeks ago from [...] when it was on sale for $[...]. This case was part of my list of upgrades that I wanted to add since the beginning.
At first my computer was being quite loud and I thought it was the fan on my PSU, but after replacing my old cheap Rosewill case it barely makes a sound.
The PSU is mounted on the bottom and at first I wasn't too crazy about that but it now it directs good air around my graphics card(before 50-70c underload After: gpu stays right around 46c)
You'll have to have alot of 4pin molex connectors to feed all the fans around the case.
The drive cages are very solid and also cool your HDDs too because of the intake fans. They are kind of annoying to have to take off both side panels to take them out but that ensures that they're stable.
High quality 3speed fans with small connectors to regulate those speeds. The switches are hard to get to but you only have to leave them on low.
There are water cooling ports already in the back of the case which is a nice touch if you ever want to upgrade. |
Great Computer Case, Except for one thing.

Love the case and you will too except if something doesn't work and the motherboard tries to let you know by giving a beep code signal. But wait, THERE IS NO INTERNAL SPEAKER IN THE CASE so how are you suppose to find out! This can be a big problem when it wont post (bootup) and you dont know whats wrong.
I am not talking about normal speakers, just the 4 pin speaker that connects to the motherboard that every case normally has. This speakers only job is to beep when the computer starts to signal everything is o.k. or to beep a number of times to signal what is wrong. It would have been an extra DOLLAR to add for the company.
Shame on you ANTEC. |
One of the best cases available!

This is probably one of the best cases you can get for a custom PC Builder.
Next to the Antec Twelve Hundred ATX 12 Drive Bays 2xUSB 2.0 eSATA Audio Full Tower Case this case is excellent. Plenty of fans to keep the computer as cool as Antarctica and plenty of ports and room for expansion. |
Fine case for gamers or not

| Contrary to many previous reviews complaining about the difficulty in screwing in hard drives, Antec has replaced the normal small screws with long ones. It is not necessary to use a magnetic driver to avoid frustration. The long screws easily mate with the HDs inside the drive cages. Enough are supplied (24) to install six drives. |

| A very easy case to work with. I like the power supply at the bottom. My power supply happened to have a blue led which goes well with the other blue leds in this case. The power supply is also modular and the cords all reach anywere in the case so no problem connecting anything. Very noticable is how well this case keeps everything cool. If I needed another case I wouldn't hesitate buying another one just like this. |
Piece of junk

Just decided to 86 this case for a new PC I'm building. Fine case
if you don't plan to do much with it. But, if you want ease of
taking it apart and replacing parts, forget it.
Pros: * Solidly built.
* Lots of Fan capability.
* Looks good.
Cons: * Documentation for removing all case parts not available
unless you like to infer things from mechanical drawings.
* No removable motherboard plate (In fact most parts are
pop riveted)
* "Special" super long screws for drive area. You can forget
using your std HDD screws.
* Fans come with manual switches (L-M-H). You'll have
to replace the fans if you want to use an external fan controller.
Otherwise, just open the case every time you want to change fan
speed.
* Top of case is REALLY difficult to remove if the motherboard
is installed. 2 front snap hold downs are unreachable because of
a top plate in the drive bay AND 2 screws (difficult to
get to with motherboard in place) further hold the top.
Didn't know that till I broke them off.
* Had hoped a "good looking" case would help me with cable routing.
All the metal makes routing even more of a pain.
Maybe I'm being overly critical. But, I feel like I've been fighting
the case design to get stuff installed/changed. All my little finger cuts and
abrasions don't give me warm fuzzies either. And, in an age where fans
are motherboard controlled or externally controlled, little switches
inside the case just seem stupid to me. Can't remember what I spent
on the case. But, whatever it was, it was a waste of $$. |
Poor quality control

First the pro's
The case has good air flow and a nice look.
But
My main complaint is that the front side auido jacks don't work. When I built this unit I blamed the MB. After having the same problem on the third motherboard I got tired of paying return shipping and just left it unplugged. While researching my current build I found other reviews that said shorts in the front side wiring was causing fires.
For my current build I went with the Cooler Master Storm Scout. I found it way easier to work with and a much better built unit. |
Impossible to give a low review, this case is AWESOME!

I am new at building computers. Because of this, I originally wanted to make it easy on myself and get a case that was "tool-less". However, this case had such good reviews, I decided to give it a try and I have not been disappointed. The case is well thought out and works great. It was easy to install the hard drives, motherboard, etc. . . . and it looks really cool.
I highly recommend. |
