| Product feels heavy, like it is solid, feels good, as if it is built well, not some cheap lite weight plastic...Plug it in and listen to it, not bad,,Problem i notice is sound..It sounds like when you hear it, sounds like someone is shaking a salt shaker at the same time...So, although what you do hear, is good, i dont like the additional salt shaking sound added to it.. |
Almost there, but not quite.

I really wanted to love this little speaker. The design is small, unintrusive, smart lookin' and very handy. The "flex" cord is firm & pose-able, which is really helpful, but the sound is not good. Distortion! Try listening to Joanna Newsom play the harp at a mid-range volume and that distortion is an insult.
First I bought the Triton usb laptop speaker (the one that looks like a white hockey puck), and i love it. Amazing sound, but the short cord was a hassle when moving my laptop from my desk to my bedside table. Ultimately, I'd fumble and drop the thing. After a year, the cord broke. I was sad, so i decided to get the b-flex because of the firm cord. If the b-flex was my only experience in external speakers, i'd probably settle. But when the music is turned up loud, it becomes very muffled and tin canny. So I'm going to return it. I might just get another Triton, or I might keep looking.
The b-flex is totally fine for increasing your volume for movies, but if you wanna rock out to music then just get the Triton external speaker. |
Great for laptops

| This product is compact, easy to use and a must have if your laptop has low speaker output. I have a Lenovo laptop and the highest volume was quieter than the lowest output using this speaker system. The sound is quite good, not outstanding but I was pleasantly surprised at the volume and the quality this little pack puts out. |
So Sad - drew too much power from my Mac Book Pro...

| Why?? Oh why? It looked like the ultimate space-saving solution!!! Sounds great on my HP Desktop. But wouldn't work for it's intended purpose - my Mac Book Pro... :-( |

I purchased this for my husband so he could have better sound while on the road traveling. We were both so surprised how well it sounds and how clear it is.
Perfect size and well worth the price! |

Great product. skeptical of the quality for the price until I recieved it. Quality was very good, sound was really good for the size. I have not used it much as I will be purchaseing a small extention cord for it. The unit is heavy and I think it would eventually put too much presure on the usb port on my netbook. I would recomend it to enyone who is sick of cords and or batteries.
Worth the price. |

I was very surprised at how good this speaker really is. It's truly amazing what a difference it makes. I watch a lot of Netflix on the laptop and had to have the volume all the way up on the program and the laptop to just barely hear it . . . often having to replay a scene to get what was said. Now I have to turn the volume down to just 2 or 3 bars and the sound quality is SO much better.
I had read a review here before buying that said to plug in BEFORE you turn on your laptop . . . good advice! This way you just use the slide bar for volume as before. I do hear some slight "crackling" while everything is booting up but that is the only issue I've had with this.
I highly recomend this speaker and for the money . . .?? well, it really can't be beat. I've read the negative comments and wish they could all have had the experience we've had.
In fact I'm buying a second one for my son so I can talk with my grandkids better on Skype. Really. THAT good. |
Awesome product

| My 10 inch Samsung netbook is great except for the speakers. I imagined a plug-in speaker that was compact and powered by the computer itself and went looking for it. I was rewarded with JLab's product. This is the perfect little external speaker for these netbooks and I have to say its performance is awesome and I would not be without it. The volume and clarity are excellent for such a little speaker, and best of all there are no wires! Thank you, JLab! |

I purchased this speaker two months ago and it really delivers the sound. I am using it with my Acer laptop that doesn't have good output volume. I don't have to sit and strain to listen anymore. I can get up and go into another room and still hear the music I'm listening to, which is why I like it.
The only reason couldn't give it a 5-star rating is because of the connector. Like other reviewers, I find it doesn't have a snug fit into the usb port and sags a little. I have never experienced this problem with other plug-ins, so I don't understand why the company doesn't correct this. I am careful about moving the laptop with the speaker connected. My laptop pretty much stays on a tv stand so the speaker is supported by the table.
One other finding is that if the speaker isn't plugged in before I log onto the internet, the computer doesn't recognize the speaker is plugged in, so the sound comes out of the laptop instead of the speaker. I then close internet explorer, and log back on and the speaker will then work. I think thats just a problem with my laptop and not a problem with the speaker.

if you use a laptop, why don't you own this thing?

For $40, this improves any laptop sound by 10x. It's amazing for its size, which is only 3 x 1 inches.
It worked fine on my HP laptop running either Vista or Windows 7.
I can't imagine anyone not using this instead of their built-in laptop speakers.
I sure wish I knew how they got such sound of two tiny little "cheapo" speaker cones. |
